SEATTLE, Wash. – JAN. 7, 2007 – Tableau Software®, the global leader in fast analytics and visualization software, today announced that its Tableau Server product has been named a finalist for the 2008 WSA Industry Achievement Awards. The Web-based visual analysis and collaboration application is one of three finalists in the Business Product of the Year category. The WSA, Washington’s largest technology trade organization, will announce winners at its annual Industry Achievement Awards event on February 7 at the Westin Hotel in Seattle.
“We were ecstatic to receive a record number of entries this year for the IAA,” said Ken Myer, president and CEO of the WSA. “Such a response is indicative of this region’s booming tech economy. Plus, I believe our top finalists have the innovation and drive to dramatically impact this industry.”
The WSA Industry Achievement Awards honor companies, agencies and individuals that best demonstrate innovation and excellence in technology. The Business Product of the Year award is reserved for the product that delivers the highest value to businesses through user performance improvement, ease of use, ROI, seamless integration and scalability
Tableau’s award-winning visual analysis software connects directly to a wide assortment of data sources allowing users to express complex data relationships through engaging and easy-to-understand visualizations with drag-and-drop ease. Tableau Server, the company’s newest product offering, extends these analytical capabilities to the Web, enabling entire organizations to share, discover and participate with their data via a Web browser.
“The launch of Tableau Server was a significant addition to our product line, and we couldn’t be happier about the recognition and accolades it has received from influential organizations such as the WSA,” said Christian Chabot, CEO of Tableau Software. “By making it easy for ordinary people to explore and find meaning in data and then share their results, Tableau Server is helping businesses of all sizes make smarter, more informed decisions.”
