Tableau will participate for the first time this year in the MIT/Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston, MA - the largest student-run conference in the world. Created in 2006, the conference sells out every year and attracts representatives from over 80 professional sports teams in the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, MLS and Premier League; industry organizations such as Ticketmaster and Stub Hub; and media such as ESPN, Sports Illustrated, NBC Sports, Fox Sports, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and many more. It is the premier venue for sports analytics discussion and networking.
Tableau has a full slate of activities scheduled for this conference: representatives from the Texas Rangers will lead a Competitive Advantage seminar on Saturday at 11:40 AM, "How the Texas Rangers are Using Tableau for Business Operations"; Team Tableau will present a Hands-on Workshop "Building a Sports Dashboard" on Friday (3:40-4:40 PM) and Saturday (10:20-11:20 AM); and we will also have live demos at the Tableau exhibit all day Friday and Saturday in the Data Visualization Zone at the BCEC. Finally, Tableau Sports Data Analyst Dash Davidson will serve as a mentor during the inaugural MIT/SSSC Hackathon, hosted by ESPN's Stats & Information Group on Thursday.
Join us February 27-28 as we support efforts to transform sport through analytics.
