Revision v1.11
Released June 2, 2010

All TIM users are advised to download and install this revision immediately. This release fixes one critical bug and a few minor bugs which are itemized below:

Critical Bug Fix

  • Fixed critical bug in which images are created with corrupt .e01 chunk offset arrays when multiple jobs were scheduled using the "Immediate" scheduling option and the "EnCase .e01" file format. When importing these images into EnCase or FTK, the user will receive a CRC or decompression error.

Minor bug fixes

  • Fixed incorrect wording of .e01 compression language in log files.
  • Improved clarity of some error dialogs.
  • Improved clarity of reporting read-only mode in the "Forensic Bridge Information" dialog box.

Revision v1.0
Released January 19, 2010

This is the first release of the Tableau Imager (TIM). Please keep the following important tips in mind while using this application:

  • TIM only acquires media connected to a Tableau Forensic Bridge.
  • TIM currently only performs physical acquisitions of the source drive.
  • To start an acquisition, simply right-click the device you wish to image under the "Storage Devices" section and click "Acquire Device".
  • To view further information about a device, double-click the device under the "Storage Devices" section.
  • To interact with an active job, right-click the job under the "Acquisition Queue" section.
  • To view the settings or status of an active job, or the log of a completed job, double-click the job in the "Acquisition Queue" section.
  • As always, please remember to safely eject the Tableau device by using the "Safely Remove Hardware" utility located in your Windows system tray before powering down. If the Tableau device is not ejected properly before powering it down, communication between the device and the host over FireWire, USB, or eSATA may fail to function properly until you restart the computer.

We need your feedback (positive or negative) to make TIM a success, so please send your input to Tableau Support at support@tableau.com.
