(NASDAQ:GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations^TM, today announced the Tableau TD2 Forensic 1:2 Duplicator, now with "twinning" capabilities and faster imaging for standalone forensic acquisitions in both field and lab settings.

The TD2 supports either cloning or imaging of SATA and IDE hard-drives at drive-limited speeds up to 145 MB/second (~ 9GB/min) and investigations can now include USB, SCSI and SAS suspect drives. The TD2 also features twinning support for 1:2 drive duplication. The TD2 is built for easy, reliable forensic imaging and is packaged in a compact and durable package for convenience in field investigations.

Additional features include format, wipe, hash (MD5 or SHA-1), HPA / DCO detection and removal, and blank disk check. Tableau President to Lead Dedicated Business Unit Focused on Forensic Software and Hardware

PASADENA, Calif., May 10, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Guidance Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: GUID) today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Tableau, LLC, a privately-held developer and manufacturer of computer forensic hardware. This acquisition extends Guidance Software's existing leadership in computer forensics technology by combining software with hardware for a complete forensic framework for the law enforcement, legal and corporate communities.

The purchase price for this transaction was $12.3 million in cash. The assets of Tableau include cash of $1.6 million. Guidance Software expects this transaction to increase previous revenue guidance by $3 million and be $0.03 accretive to its non-GAAP earnings per share in 2010. The acquisition closed May 7, 2010.

Guidance Software customers now have access to a family of data-acquisition products - tools to gather evidence and other data - including multiple "write blocker" products, forensic duplicators and other hardware. Write-blockers protect data while it is being collected during the computer forensic process, eliminating any risk of changing the data - especially useful in criminal cases and other legal investigations. Tableau Adds New Decryption Capabilities to TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator (June 1, 2008)

WAUKESHA, WI, March 4, 2008 - Effective immediately, new shipments of Tableau TDA8-M media card readers will include additional support for the Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) media card format.

PRTK 6x - 60x Faster with Tableau TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator (24 August 2007)

WAUKESHA, WI, August 24, 2007 - In preparation for the September 4, 2007, launch of the TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator, Tableau has performed extensive benchmark testing using AccessData's PRTK v6.3. The performance gains from the TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator are impressive.

The patent-pending, 16-cell FPGA-based Tableau TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator is designed to accelerate the dictionary-based attacks of leading password recovery applications such as AccessData's PRTK and DNA. Benchmark testing has been conducted using PRTK v6.3 running on a variety of modern, Pentium® and Core2® systems configured with and without the Tableau TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator.

"In our benchmark testing, systems with the TACC1441 accelerator were able to process many more passwords per second than identical systems without acceleration," indicated Jim Borecki, Tableau's Marketing and Sales Vice President. "As measured in terms of passwords per second, systems with a single TACC1441 accelerator improved PRTK performance up to 60 times that of non-accelerated systems. For our customers this translates to higher password recovery success rates. Moreover, by adding TACC to existing systems, our customers will be able to extend the lifetime of their existing CPUs."

Benchmark testing has also confirmed that multiple TACC1441 units can be used with a single CPU. For encrypted file formats including WinZip, PGP, and WinRAR, performance gains are nearly linear through three, and in some cases four TACC1441 accelerators. For example, a Core2® Quad-core system with four TACC1441 accelerators yields in excess of 250,000 WinZip9 passwords per second compared to 1,000 - 2,500 passwords per second for a Pentium® system.

Shipments of the TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator will begin on September 4, 2007.

Tableau and AccessData Announce a Breakthrough In Password Decryption (22 January, 2007)

DoD Cyber Crime Summit, St. Louis, MO, January 22, 2007 - Tableau and AccessData today revealed plans for delivering a joint solution which holds the potential to dramatically accelerate password recovery processing.

Today's announcement holds the promise of dramatically reducing password attack times and is the result of an ongoing collaboration between AccessData and Tableau, both leaders in their respective forensic software and hardware fields. The solution, based upon Tableau's newest product, the TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator, will include password attack support using AccessData's PRTK and DNA products.

"Our ongoing product development and initial testing results are very promising," indicates Robert Botchek, Tableau President and Founder. Tableau Launches New Family of Forensic Products (19 January, 2007)

Waukesha, WI, January 19, 2007 - The Tableau TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator holds promise as a breakthrough forensics technology.

Tableau has announced the ongoing development of a new family of forensic products based on the company's proprietary hardware acceleration technology.

The TACC1441 is a high-performance hardware accelerator built on 16 Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), each containing millions of circuits programmed to perform high-speed computational tasks. The initial TACC1441 product is designed for integration in a 5 1/4 inch wide bay in a forensic workstation tower. A FireWire800 interface provides high-speed host communications. T15-RW Forensic Sata Pocket Bridge Now Available (6 December 2006)

WAUKESHA, WI, December 6, 2006 - The read-write version of Tableau's popular Forensic SATA Pocket Bridge is now available.

Tableau has extended the popular Pocket Family of Forensic Bridge products to include a read-write version of the T15 Forensic SATA bridge. The T15-RW package is factory set to enable read and write access to SATA storage drives. Tableau Disk Monitor Software Available for Download (27 November 2006)

WAUKESHA, WI, November 27, 2006 - Tableau introduces the highly anticipated Tableau Disk Monitor software.

The Tableau Disk Monitor (TDM) is a Windows application designed to improve the efficiency of the data acquisition process by automating the collection of key storage disk and Tableau Forensic Bridge information. TDM has the ability to track the physical storage devices currently attached to your computer system, giving an examiner the ability to capture, display, export to file, and print a report containing a range of technical information about each storage device. Information collected about the storage device includes make, model, serial number, true storage capacity, and even the HPA/DCO capacities for IDE and SATA devices. WAUKESHA, WI, January 12, 2006 - Tableau today announced that it has begun volume shipments of its new T335 Forensic Drive Bay Controller.

The model T335 employs patent-pending new technology to provide unmatched performance and ease of use for a system-mounted forensic bridge, also known as a forensic write-blocker.

Tableau's T335 Forensic Drive Bay Controller provides three independent bridges, two SATA and one IDE, each of which can be configured for read-only or read-write operation at system build time. Tableau ships FireWire800+USB2.0 SCSI Bridge (1 Mar 2004)

BROOKFIELD, WI, March 1, 2004 - Tableau announced that volume shipments of its much- anticipated T4 FireWire800+USB2.0 SCSI Bridge will begin this week.

The T4 is the latest bridge product from Tableau purpose- built for computer forensics applications. The T4 supports both LVD (Low-Voltage Differential) and SE (Single-Ended) SCSI devices, with SCSI burst rates up to 80MBytes/second when using LVD devices. Moreover, the T4 offers "jumperless" operation, automatically scanning the SCSI bus for devices and eliminating the need to change jumpers on subject hard drives.

According to the company, pre-orders for the Tableau T4 have been very strong, corresponding with strong sales of the company's companion forensic products, the T3 FireWire800 SATA and T5 FireWire800+USB2.0 IDE Bridges.

Tableau expects its resellers will be able to start shipping the T4 FireWire800+USB2.0 SCSI Bridge to end users the week of March 8, 2004.

Tableau announces SATA, SCSI, and IDE forensic bridges (5 Jan 2004)

BROOKFIELD, WI, January 5, 2004 - Tableau today introduced its first family of bridge products purpose-built for the needs of the computer forensics community. The family includes Tableau's T3 FireWire800 SATA Bridge, Tableau's T4 FireWire800+USB2.0 SCSI Bridge, and Tableau's T5 FireWire800+USB2.0 IDE Bridge.

The Tableau FireWire800 SATA Bridge is the first native FireWire SATA bridge on the market. By mating FireWire800 to SATA (Serial ATA), the Tableau T3 gives users the ability to run SATA drives at peak performance, reducing imaging time. Being a native SATA implementation, the T3 eliminates adapters and other attachments needed to connect older parallel ATA (IDE) bridges to modern SATA hard drives.

The Tableau T4 FireWire800+USB2.0 SCSI Bridge is also an industry first. The Tableau T4 is designed to burst up to 80MBytes/second (when using the FireWire800 interface), making it by far the fastest FireWire-SCSI bridge ever developed. By combining FireWire800 and USB2.0 interfaces in one design, the Tableau T4 also offers maximum convenience for imaging both single-ended and LVD SCSI devices.

The Tableau T5 FireWire800+USB2.0 IDE Bridge brings Tableau's unique product philosophy to the traditional IDE hard drive interface.
