| Description: | Certain models of SCSI hard disks draw large transient currents during spin-up. In some
cases these large transient currents will exceed the capability of the Tableau T3458is and T34589is
forensic bridges.
The Tableau T3458is and T34589is are bay-mounted forensic bridges which are powered by the
power supply in the host computer. Depending on the selection of the power supply in the
host computer and also depending on the quality of the power cabling between the power supply
and the forensic bridge, the forensic bridge may be unable to respond to transient current demands
quickly enough, resulting in transient low-voltage conditions at the T3458is/T34589is front-panel Molex power
connector which supplies the SCSI hard disk.
Suggested workaround: use a separate Tableau power supply such as the Tableau model TP2
to power the SCSI hard disk directly. In Tableau testing this allows the T3458is/T34589is to work
correctly with the SCSI hard disk.
