French Plant Authority: Nurturing Insight and Efficiency

Ever look at those plant tags in the nursery and wonder...just who regulates these varieties of roses and cucumbers and grapes? Me neither! But I thought it was really interesting to read about the Angers, France-based public authority, The Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) that oversees the granting of intellectual property protection for new plant varieties in Europe.

But I thought it was really interesting to read about the Angers, France-based public authority, The Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) that oversees the granting of intellectual property protection for new plant varieties in Europe.


The CPVO is using Tableau to help with its internal finance BI. It is also using Tableau's geocoding and mapping capabilities to visualize what's happening in plant breeding circles and to gain insight into rights management issues.

As our French-speaking friends would say, "Très intéressant!"
