Tableau Software Opens Austin Office in Midst of Massive Growth
Company to Host Recruiting Open House September 13
Tableau Software, the global leader in rapid-fire business intelligence software, today announced that it has opened an office in Austin, TX. The company will host an open house recruiting event on Thursday, September 13 to introduce itself to the community and provide an opportunity for candidates to discuss current and future open positions. Tableau will base its professional services practice for North America out of the Austin city center location and is hiring developer, sales and operations talent as well. It plans to have capacity for more than 150 employees.
“Austin’s geography, talented workforce and reputation as a business and technology center make it an ideal location for our continued expansion,” said Brett Thompson, Vice President of Human Resources at Tableau Software. “We are seeking candidates who share our passion to help people see and understand data.”
Tableau got its start in the computer science department at Stanford in 2003 and moved its headquarters to Seattle shortly thereafter. The company has had eight years of record sales, achieving 83 percent sales growth in 2011 and is up over 100% for the first half of 2012. It announced that it plans to hire 300 new employees in 2012.
The Tableau Austin office is Tableau’s fourth office in the U.S.; other locations include Seattle, Kirkland, WA and Menlo Park, CA. The temporary office is located at the Arboretum Great Hills Center at 9600 Great Hills Trail.
In 2012, Tableau also opened international offices in London and Singapore.
The Tableau Austin open house will take place on Thursday, September 13 at Maria Maria, 415 Colorado Street in Austin.
