LAS VEGAS, NV — October 17, 2011 — Tableau Software is hosting 1,400 attendees at its fourth annual Tableau Customer Conference (#TCC11) at the Encore Hotel, Las Vegas, NV this week. Nearly double the size of last year’s conference, TCC11 demonstrates that fast analytics and visualization are taking hold in organizations of all types. The company will preview Tableau 7, its visually stunning, analytically deep and enterprise-ready product release due out this winter. In addition to 30 customer speakers, the conference features 52 hours of hands-on training, six major keynotes and 11 highly-regarded industry expert speakers.

Tableau CEO and co-founder Christian Chabot will lead off the conference with a review of the “Tableau Experiment.” He’ll describe how unleashing data’s potential is one of the great opportunities for human achievement this century. Co-founder Chris Stolte and his team of developers will follow up with a revealing and entertaining look at Tableau’s 7’s new features.

Featured keynotes include:
•Apple’s former chief evangelist and AllTop.com co-founder Guy Kawasaki will share how to influence people minds and actions through “delightful change”
•Boing-Boing editor and science fiction writer Cory Doctorow muses on how to design for human sensors, and not just for humans as data points.
•Jeffrey Ma, a member of the Blackjack Team featured in the best-selling book Bringing Down the House and the movie 21, will share how businesses can harness the power of numbers.
•Business analytics and data visualization guru Stephen Few anchors the event with a new talk about using our brain’s diverse abilities to collaborate.

New this year is a line-up of 11 industry experts speaking on visual analytics, data story-telling, mobile BI, and business analytics best practices. Experts include Howard Dresner, Paul Kedrosky of the blog Infectious Greed, Cindi Howson of BI Scorecard, Tech Target’s Wayne Eckerson, and Seattle Times data enterprise editor Cheryl Phillips. In addition, Dr. Claudia Imhoff of Intelligent Solutions, TDWI’s Dave Stodder, Robert Kosara of EagerEyes.com, Abhi Mehta of Tresata, David O’Connell of Nucleus Research and The Guardian’s data blogger Simon Rogers will also share their expertise.

“It’s exciting to be able to share our Tableau story with other companies encountering the same limitations with their data analytics that we’ve experienced,” said Dana Zuber, strategy consultant with Wells Fargo. “This is a great conference and a wonderful opportunity to connect with industry leaders who are constantly pushing the analytics envelope.”

Sponsors of the Tableau Customer Conference include Teradata, Vertica, Interworks, Aster Data, Urban Mapping and ParAccel.

“Tableau customers profoundly impact the world around them through data and analytics,” said Elissa Fink, Tableau’s chief marketing officer. “Our customer conference lets people share their passion for data with like-minded people.”
